Dallas Floodway Extension Project
The DFE Project is funded by the citizens of Dallas and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at approximately a 75% federal share and 25% City share. Through the 1998 Bond Program, the City of Dallas has authorized $24.7 million for these efforts. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers must seek federal funding each year in order to continue with the design and construction. Through fiscal year 2015, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has received $91.4 million of Federal funding from Congress. Local and federal elected officials work diligently each year to ensure that the project moves forward with yearly federal funding.
