On August 9, 2017, the Dallas City Council approved the Certificate of Formation and Bylaws of the Trinity River Corridor Local Government. The first phase of corporation's development work will focus on approximately 200 acres between the Margaret McDermott Bridge and the Ronald Kirk Bridge.Trinity River Corridor Local Government Corporation's mission is to design, build, manage, and operate future recreational projects in the Dallas Floodway with plans to create and maintain the Harold Simmons Recreation Area between the Ronald Kirk Bridge and the Margaret McDermott Bridge. These components will be done in partnership with the City of Dallas and the City's local, state and federal agency partners. The result will benefit all users of the area.
